My name is Jeshua Mercado, photographer, creative director, and the sole architect of Your Intimate Memories. I built this brand as more than a service: it is a structure where professional models have a partner who takes their craft, their image, and their boundaries as seriously as they do.
Every session I photograph serves two portfolios: yours and mine. That shared investment shapes every creative decision I make. When your images are extraordinary, we both benefit.
I came to this work with a conviction: that intimate photography at the professional level deserves more than a handshake arrangement. Clear tiers, documented agreements, and protections in writing before anyone steps in front of a lens.
The result is a process built around the model’s sovereignty at every stage. What the session is, where it goes, and how far it goes are decisions that remain yours throughout.
Your Intimate Memories is based in Northern Virginia, with sessions held at private historic venues across Arlington, Alexandria, McLean, and the greater DMV area, and operates under a complete legal documentation framework covering every tier of work offered.

Before there was a camera, there was a career built entirely around protecting people. Fifteen years of professional security experience, the majority of it in leadership, is what stands behind every protocol, every written agreement, and every boundary enforced at Your Intimate Memories.
When this brand says you are safe, it is not a rehearsed line or a liability disclaimer. It is a statement from someone who spent over a decade building the systems that kept other people safe, training teams to identify threats before they arrived, and answering for the security of people who trusted him to get it right.

No image is ever sold or licensed to a third party. Your identity is never publicly disclosed. No boundary is ever crossed. These are not verbal assurances. They are written into your agreement before the session begins.

A personal style does not arrive on command. It is earned through years of work, hundreds of thousands of shutter clicks, and a deliberate process of questioning what photography is supposed to be. What began as standard lingerie-themed boudoir became, over time and by choice, something more considered.
The shift began with the model. Not her physical beauty, though it is never absent from the work, but the quality that makes her beauty distinct. Her personality. The particular charm of her mannerisms, the way she holds a smile before it fully arrives, the playfulness that surfaces when she is at ease. These are the elements I wanted the camera to find. The physical is present in every frame. The essence is harder to hold, and far more worth pursuing.
Then came the second realization. The model is not the only thing that brings an image to life. Every space she inhabits is present in the frame as well, a silent participant, a supporting actor whose contribution is just as real. A bedroom. A window sill. The edge of a chair. Her own reflection in a mirror. These are not backdrops. They are partners in the composition. The most compelling images I have made are not studies of a model placed in a scene. They are documents of a genuine interaction between a person and the space she is occupying at that moment.
In most sessions, I direct the model to interact with the camera as little as possible. To move through her environment as herself. To let me disappear. When the camera becomes invisible, so does the performance, and what remains is real. The images that result are not constructed. They are found.
Once this approach became the foundation of the work, what followed was the careful curation of everything that surrounds the model within the frame. Gowns chosen not for their beauty alone but for how they move in the space. Footwear that belongs to the scene. The deliberate use of masks and accessories that become part of a consistent visual language. Nothing in the frame arrives by accident. Every element is in conversation with every other. That is what I mean by a aesthetic synchrony: not perfection, but coherence. A complete story that feels true because it is.
This philosophy, developed over years of practice, defines how a Your Intimate Memories session is built. Every session is planned with the model at its center: her personality, her aesthetic, her vision. The environment is selected to meet her. The wardrobe is chosen to serve both. And the session itself is designed to get out of its own way, so that what the camera finds is not what was arranged, but who she actually is.

Your Voice First
The model defines the session, not the photographer.
Before a date is confirmed, before an agreement is signed, there is a conversation where you set the terms. Your vision, your boundaries, and your comfort level establish what the session is. My role is to bring that vision to life with craft, not to steer it.

No Touch, Ever
Direction is verbal. Physical contact does not occur.
Posing guidance is delivered through words and demonstration only, never through physical adjustment or contact. This is not a preference. It is a non-negotiable condition of every session at every tier, documented in writing before you arrive.

Everything in Writing
No verbal agreements. Every commitment is documented.
Every session is governed by a formal agreement tailored to its tier, accompanied by supporting documents covering venue, safety, image delivery, and confidentiality. You receive the full documentation package before anything is confirmed. There are no surprises.

Right to Stop
You may pause, step down, or end at any moment.
At any point in a session, for any reason or no reason, you have the absolute right to stop, with no penalty, no pressure, and no explanation required. This right is written into every agreement. It does not expire mid-session. It is not conditional on anything.

Your Images Are Yours
Images are never sold or licensed to third parties.
Copyright remains with the photographer. Your Session Agreement lets you decide exactly how your images are used: portfolio, website, social media, tagging, and behind-the-scenes content are each their own election, and only the uses you say yes to are ever authorized. In return, you receive a personal self-promotion license for your own social media and portfolio. YIM will never publicly identify you by name, alias, or tag unless you have specifically authorized it. Your images are delivered through encrypted channels and stored securely. Your images are never digitally manipulated to alter your body or construct synthetic representations of you. If you choose, you may separately elect in writing to let YIM share your identity with a prospective model seeking a reference. This is entirely optional and yours to withdraw at any time.
